ABOUT YOUTHINVEST PARTNERS

Prisms (MALTA) is a group of experienced youth workers who came together in 2008 with the aim of creating an NGO that addresses the needs of young people and those working with them. Prisms aims to empower individuals with the skills, tools, information, and values necessary for personal growth and to become active participants in society.
Prisms responds to the needs of the people it works with through innovative non-formal educational methods, addressing their challenges in a holistic manner. The organization focuses on coaching and mentoring, online tools, mental well-being, inclusion, and disability.

Using a context-out approach, Prisms strives to connect with young people in their own environments. Our youth workers reach out to young people to understand their living situations, life stages, and key relationships. At the heart of all our activities lies a person-centred approach that enables us to connect with purpose. Prisms listens to young people and their life experiences. Together with the young person, we identify the needs to be addressed. Prisms believes that every individual has potential, and through a positive relationship with the young person, we support them in setting achievable goals for growth.

Prisms also provides opportunities for the personal and professional development of youth workers. We believe that the overall well-being of youth workers is pivotal, as they serve as role models for young people. By developing their intra- and interpersonal skills, youth workers can better engage with the young people they support. Prisms equips youth workers with tools to be more self-reflective and to identify areas for growth. On a professional level, we offer innovative tools and methods to help youth workers reach, connect with, engage, and empower young people.

Prisms always seeks to create meaningful collaborations and has established partnerships with various organizations both locally and internationally. This ensures that our initiatives are of high quality and provide opportunities for youth workers and young people to build their personal and organizational capacity, while also promoting good youth work practices.

Since the summer of 2008 Pärnu Youth Recreation Centre (ESTONIA) has made it their mission to support young people in their lives and personal growth by creating safe spaces for them to be heard without any preconception or judgement. Providing them with tools to show initiative, be creative and improve their social skills.
This NGO first started by opening the doors to one of the biggest youth centres in Pärnu City. Doing so, they created more possibilities for leisure, different types of learnings, creativity and collaborations to their local young people. Through the years Pärnu Youth Recreation Centre has got bigger and bigger. In 2018 they took on to manage another youth centre that is located in Pärnu.

These two youth centres were the first ones to start implementing mobile street-based youth work in Pärnu City. Which now is working effectively and proved to be a very needed method in regards to reaching vulnerable young people and reducing crime in Pärnu City.

In 2019 Pärnu Youth Recreation Centre was named the best youth centre in Estonia by The Ministry of Education and Research. Honoured by this recognition the NGO has been even more motivated to keep up with good quality youth work and continued to grow into an even bigger organisation since then. Meaning, in 2020 they also started providing international youth workservices to their local young people, by being a hosting organisation for foreign volunteers, implementing youth exchanges and taking part in long term international projects. Through that they give their local community a chance to experience different cultures and young people a chance to become the citizens of the world, by creating possibilities for them to travel abroad.

Czech Republic: CEFIG
CEFIG (CZECH REPUBLIC) is a non-profit organisation that was started in 2012. Since then, a focus has been placed on educating young people, especially in financial literacy, but also in related areas such as entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and media literacy. Each year, over 100 courses are hosted for youngsters!

CEFIG itself is operated on the principle of social entrepreneurship, where financial knowledge is applied to ensure financial sustainability. A business model is used in which paid financial workshops are provided for companies and individuals, and the profit is used to deliver workshops in schools or foster homes at reduced prices or for free.

Many activities are carried out, including:
• educational events being hosted in the Czech Republic,
• trainers/facilitators being sent to various events in the Czech Republic and abroad,
• participation being made in national and international conferences and educational events,
• educational games and materials for youth workers being developed.

CEFIG currently is supported by 10 long-term paid staff members and over 15 volunteers who assist the organisation. Most of the staff and volunteers are made up of young people, so the target audience is closely connected and easily reached. At the same time, experienced colleagues are included in the team to share their knowledge.
